MUSE Memories Pt 4

During our first few months in business, we were thrilled to add a gorgeous Japanese beauty named Reiko to our crew. Truly one of the most gracious adoring women we have been so lucky to have on our team!

Reiko had such an elegant way of combining her heritage with her attention to details in her sessions. She equally had a very clever and special way to attract and retain her client base. (Our lips are sealed). We learned so much about her heartfelt effort, and how much she cared for each guest at MUSE!

One particular day, we were sitting in the back half of the spa, which wasn’t built yet, as our expansion renovation came many months later… We had the door open which allowed us to keep an eye on the front door at the end of the hallway, as we ate some yummy lunch (Spicy Shrimp from Caribbean Heat in the plaza near by. Yum!)

Suddenly we look down the hallway and see a huge billowing cloud of dark black smoke out of Room 1!!! Instant panic and wonder kicked in right away! As we rush down the hall, sweet Reiko comes out of the room and frantically explains that while helping her client peel away layers of clothing, she flung his dress shirt, and it landed on the candles!

The client was fairly calm about the situation, but Reiko was adamant that she was going to replace his shirt. She got in her car and drove to Yorkdale Mall and bought him the exact same (and very expensive) new shirt! Her swift thinking to protect her customer from questioning eyes as to why he would be coming home without the shirt he left with was a display of compassion that truly defines MUSE, and especially Reiko.

We had to repaint that room due to the soot and flame marks on the walls. And needless to say, candles were a no-no after that!
